General Description:

The Lift Operator assists passengers in the safe loading and unloading of ski lifts and/or tubing runs, and checks lift ticket validity, while providing excellent guest service by interacting with all lift passengers.

Essential Duties:

• Assist all passengers in the safe loading and unloading of the ski lift.
• Provide instruction and superior customer service by interacting and talking to all lift passengers
• Stall chairs to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers loading the lift.
• Slow or stop the lift as necessary to ensure passenger safety.
• Maintain load and unload ramps and areas around all lift stations and tubing lanes, by shoveling and/or raking snow.
• Ensure all chairs are clear of snow or ice before loading passengers.
• Identify potential hazards and report them immediately.
• Contact Facilities Maintenance if mechanical problems develop.
• Work closely with Ski Patrol / Ski School / Facilities Maintenance to assist and resolve problems that may arise.
• Be familiar with all policies, procedures and rules regarding operating and riding a ski lift and ensure that these are followed by staff and customers.
• Perform daily pre-operation inspections and post-operation shutdown procedures.
• Assist in evacuation of a disabled lift.
• Check to ensure every skier, snowboarder, or tuber, has a valid ticket or season pass each time before boarding the lift.
• May be trained in Terrain Park Operations as needed.
• Answer guest questions by being familiar with Cockaigne’s layout, products and services, or by asking someone who can answer the guest's question.
• Maintain cleanliness of lift shacks and work area, remove trash when necessary.
• All work must be performed in a safe manner and in accordance to Cockaigne’s Vision and Mission.

• Assist with binding certification process and trailing for all rental shop staff.
• Maintain a neat and well displayed rental shop daily.
• Ensure all rental equipment is well tuned and in good working shape daily.
• Assist guests with all aspects of rental experience: including but not limited to; selecting rental equipment, completing rental forms and adjusting rental equipment appropriately.

General Description:

The Ski/Snowboard School Instructor is responsible for instructing skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities to improve their skills, while providing a fun and effective learning environment.

Essential Duties:

• Instruct groups and/or individuals in a fun and student-centered lesson format.
• Teach proper techniques appropriate to the ability level of those being instructed.
• Promote safety and give students the knowledge to remain safe when they leave lessons to ski/ride on their own.
• Participate in clinics and free-skiing to constantly improve personal skiing/snowboarding skills.
• Attend PSIA and AASI clinics, and take appropriate exams, on an ongoing basis.
• Participate in pre-season clinics required.
• Greet guests and direct guests to proper lesson locations.
• Must successfully complete instructor training.
• Establish and foster positive relationships with local school districts to attract and retain Skiers, Snowboarders, and other Cockaigne Resort guests.

The Ski School Supervisor is responsible for: the supervision and coordination of daily organization of the Ski School’s lessons and programs; supervision of Ski Instructors; assistance with the daily organization of ski lessons.

Essential Duties:

• Work closely with Rental Supervisor, Ticket/Retail Supervisor, and Marketing, in the creation of programs, products, sales and lesson experience.
• Verify appropriate curriculum for each class skill level.
• Supervise daily organization of Ski School lessons and programs.
• Establish and foster positive relationships with local school districts to attract and retain Skiers, Snowboarders, and other Cockaigne Resort guests.
• Develop a continuing and cohesive clinic/training program.
• Oversee assignment of ski and snowboard lessons and classes.
• Handle guest concerns and inquiries when needed.
• Ensure instructors are creating fun and student-centered lessons.
• Collaborate with human resources on instructor recruiting, retention and incentive programs to develop and maintain desired staffing levels.

• Install and maintain Terrain Park signage, closures, trail markings, fencing and banner tape.
• Monitor Terrain Park features by vision inspection and testing procedures.
• Maintain ongoing monitoring and maintenance of Terrain Park features and equipment.
• Assist with special events including erection and maintenance of equipment.
• Participate in user education and training.
• Provide instruction and superior customer service by interacting and talking to all Terrain Park visitors.

The Ticketing & Retail Services Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional guest service satisfaction by performing all ticketing and merchandise sales functions for our guests in a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable manner.

Essential Duties:

• Maintains a basic knowledge of all types of tickets sold.
• Operates and performs simple maintenance of Point of Sales (POS) terminals.
• Assists guests with directions and other resort information.
