Arrival
Upon arrival at the resort you will immediately come upon our eastern horse pasture – a fun place for the horses to play and show off for guests.
A little further, and you come upon Cockaigne’s Circle C RV Park. The park is conveniently located at the banks of Clear Creek and in the middle of horse country.
Cross a small bridge and discover the Wilderness Outpost – the resort’s center for guest activities.
Stay on the path and you will arrive at The Lodge – the center of Dining and home to The Pub – a local favorite!
The Lodge is also home to all winter time skiing and snowmobiling activities. Get your rentals – lessons – and merchandise – while taking in the breathtaking view from The Lodge.

We love showing off our expansive campus via horseback. Nervous about riding – don’t worry – our horses are trail horses and are hand selected for the job! Need some pointers? Our expert Wranglers accompany every ride, and will teach you the best techniques for an Amazing and Safe Adventure!

Ok, maybe not Wild – but Western Axe Throwing Thrives at Cockaigne! Led by a Wilderness Outpost Guide, this Adventure is A MUST for every guest! Just steps outside The Lodge, this Adventure is Adult Time! Let’s see if you have what it takes to be TOP AXE!

A Few Facts About Our history
Cockaigne was the best place for family fun and winter events for over four decades up until the lodge was destroyed in a fire in January 2011.
And now, it is once again the Best Place for Family Fun!
1964 – Cockaigne’s famous ski lodge was built for the Austrian Pavilion at the World’s Fair in NYC.
1966 – Lodge was moved from NYC to its final spot in Cherry Creek, NY
1966, Winter – Cockaigne began operations as a Ski Resort during the winter of 1966.
2011, January – Fire destroyed the lodge; all efforts were utilized to finish the 2010/2011 season
2011, Spring – Cockaigne closed its doors
2020, Winter – Cockaigne Re-opens for Skiing
